As the warm sun seeped through his thick fur Rave shifted slightly into a better position.A warm breeze ruffled the silky surface of the large wolf. He licked his chops to get the dried blood off his dark green muzzle. He had just finished a nice meal of deer meat. After a few minutes, of soaking the sun's rays, the silver wolf stood. He had just arrived in the Traveling Wolf Land. He was heading south to the desert. Even though he knew that was where the most dangerous wolves went, but he didn't care. He just was going anywhere he could. After that he was thinking of heading to the mountains, or maybe that was the other way around, mountains first, then the desert, it didn't really matter to him. The high pitch chirp came from the tree next him. Rave flicked his ears in annoyance. "Annoying bird," He breathed remembering his old friend, Fidget. The old raven had saved his life that day. Something else happened that day, he made a vow to keep living. To find out what happen that tragic day.

Taipa's form flew through the sunny day as he relished its warmth. Where he had lived before, it had never been this nice. The wolves were of course just as idiotic and selfish, but there was something different about the wolves that lived here that kept him. He had no master and was in no cause at the moment. He had promised not to give information to Black Valley about Ruin Forest or he'd basically pay for it with his life. The other way though was perfectly acceptable and he'd made sure to help the Ruin Forest pack with any new information, such as one of Vullgar's daughters going insane.
He 'smiled' at that thought, but shifted his mind to other things. A sudden flash in his vision made him look down at the world below him. Focusing his vision below, he noticed a form he'd never seen before. Curiosity ruffled his feathers and he descended.
As he made his way down, he heard the wolf call a calling bird annoying. It seemed he'd found a wolf with a character. He'd seen many in his lifetime for of course he'd been in a war or two.
His claws found their way onto a low bush from where he could be at eye level of the young wolf. Taipa's fierce talons and beak secured his feeling of security in case the wolf attacked. He began to flap his enormous gyrfalcon wings to get the wolf's attention. "You know, I'd be careful at what you say to birds. Some can actually understand your wolf-speak," he turned his head to look at the wolf in the eyes.

"I know that already," Rave said while twitching his ears irritably. "I use to have a friend. He was a raven named Fidget." Rave sat his haunches down onto the soft grass. His red eyes stared back into the bird's. What did this gyrfalcon want. Rave was just about to leave before the bird came. He ruffled his light colored feathers. The memory of traveling together for half a year with Fidget flashed in his mind. Shaking his head, Rave came back to th present. "Why are you here?" He asked.

His bright eyes looked at the wolf with surprise and acceptance. This wolf knew there was more to his world and clearly had had a friend as it had said. The thought of a raven as a friend though made him smile as he hid a laugh. Raven's were total moochers and tried to get anything from anyone. Plus, they weren't known for their honesty, but rather the opposite.
Studying the wolf he realized that he had defiantly had a connection to the Raven named Fidget no matter what he thought. Regaining his composure, he lifted his wings and landed right in front of the wolf. At his question, he clacked his beak. "Why are we ever anywhere? No, I actually am on a break and wanted to have fun since I don't belong to anyone. You see I'm a free lancer of sorts. I learn information and sell it for a price."
He then lifted up his wings and jumped closer to the wolf's muzzle. "Though you look a bit different and confused to be in these lands. Don't you understand, wolf, that this place is full of wolves waiting to tear your poor little throat out to scare the others? You're just prey to them and you don't mean anything." At the last part he looked directly into the wolf's eyes with a gleam in his own. He was purposly getting this one worked up just for a bit of fun. Perhaps he'd even say something interesting he could use for payment.

"I can defend myself," Rave growled glaring at the bird. His bright eyes seemed to contain mischief and curiosity. "I have been for quiet sometime." He added just to get the point across. The great wolf just sat there casually, trying to ignore the pest who came closer to his muzzle. If the bird got to close, Rave would simply snap at the bird to scare it. He had dealt with a bird much more annoying then this one. Fidget seemed to be scheming every moment they where together. He was prepared to think through the raven's plans quickly. Quick thinking was his strong points, but also his weak point. The gyrfalcon was up to something, probably thinking he could get juicy information from Rave. Eying the bird, Rave shifted on his paws, waiting for the bird's reply.

Taipa took in the wolf with a 'smirk'. So he thought he could defend himself? He, a gryfalcon who had been in a war, knew how to defend himself. Defending oneself was physical and mental. A sly thought came to him.
"Were you able to defend Fidget," he asked. Taipa put his beak right onto the wolf's nose as he said that with narrowed eyes. He then turned away."It seems to me, ravens never leave a wolf unless they have to because they are a source of food. This allows them to never scavange again, the easy-life. They are the most useless birds ever in that sense." The gryfalcon turned quickly as he continued,"You may be able to defend yourself, but one needs to know how to defend others. If you don't know that then your useless as well."
Taipa leaped into the air and landed on the wolf's back gracefully. "So you really think you can be around here if your useless? Black Valley loves wolves like your kind to scare off their enemy and make them weak."
The bird was just toying with Rave. He was leading him on until he opened up and they could negociate. It seemed he had several alterior motives: relaxing, gathering information, hiring recruits for the battle to come, questioning, and....having fun.
